WHAT MUST BE DONE WHEN CHANGING A WIFI ROUTER?

As the EVchargo App is ‘bound’ to the existing wifi it needs to be Unbound BEFORE the router is changed. Here are the following steps.

1. To Unbind pull down the main options menu’s on the home page of EVchargo and ‘unbind’ the charger just before you replace it. 

2. When the new router is up and running open EVchargo and tap on BIND Charger

3. Follow on screen instructions

4. When you get to Network configuration have to hand the new WiFI name (it MUST be a 2.4gHz frequency network and at least 3 bars strength) and its Password.

5. Add in the Wifi name or pick from the drop down options if it shows on it.

6. Type in the Password for that Wifi name – Confirm

If successful you will be taken back to the main screen. It takes a minute or two before it becomes ‘Available’ 

You are finished set up.

If the router is faulty or you have NOT unbound the charger before the old router is replaced this will entail contact support.

1. Send support a picture of the SN label on the side of the charger

2. The back end server will need be configured to unbind the charger there will be a small charge for this support.

3. Once it is unbound the steps 2 to 6 above are followed.
